Dryer
Description
The dryer uses heat energy to reduce the moisture content of materials. By heating dryer machines, moisture of materials can vaporize and escape. In this way, we can get solid materials in specified humidity ratio. The purpose of drying is to use material or for further processing. The main components of dryer include drying cylinder, dust removal system, selection by winnowing system and hot-blast furnace. The dryer machine is utilized to dry materials until the moisture content is appropriate. Dried materials can be used to make wood pellet fuel or particle board. It is suitable for drying materials like crushed woods, shavings, sawdust, straw, etc.

Principle
- Dryers is working under 450℃. The time of drying depends on output, initial moisture content of shavings, shapes of shavings and types of wood. It normally needs 20-30 minutes.
- Relying on the combined effect of air and dryer machine, shavings inside of the drum flow horizontally for drying. As moisture content of shavings is reduced, so does the temperature of thermal medium. Therefore, this kind of drying equipment has good security. Air has more apparent effect on small and thin shavings and they flow through the drum at faster speed. Although shavings are in different shapes, the final moisture content is almost the same.
- Dried shavings are discharged at the back end of the dryer and are pushed into the cyclone for separation. Tail air contents fine materials via the drying fan goes into efficient cyclone for further dust removal. Fine materials, as fuel, are transported to hot-blast furnace by conveyors.
- Tail air discharged by drying system can be partly recycled. It will greatly increase the thermal efficiency of drying system.
